You just got Glucked: Momofuku Chicken Dinner

Ok, I’ll admit it.  I don’t love fried chicken.  My life consists of many culinary pursuits, and fried chicken has never made it on the list.  My brother, on the other hand, has made it a personal mission to find the world’s (or maybe just New York’s) best fried chicken.

Since everything David Chang touches turns to succulence, his Momofuku Noodle Bar Fried Chicken Dinner made my brother’s list of must tastes.

Acquiring a reservation for this very New York experience is a bit of a nuisance and must be approached with patience and forethought: basically allow yourself a month in advance to make it and check the website everyday early until something pops up. Also you have to be willing to dine either at 5:30 or 6 pm or 10, 11:45 or 11:55 pm.  (They offer it for lunch too.)

Well, make the sacrifice, because the meal is worth it.  Is it the fried chicken itself that reigns supreme?  Most of my group voted that Korean style chicken to be the stronger of the two.  The moo shoo pancakes and array of dipping sauces helped.  And no David Chang meal is complete without a pork bun or two.  It is not a meal I will repeat (more for my arteries’ sake than my palate’s), but certainly a meal I enjoyed and would recommend to any fried chicken lover or culinary adventurer.
